I can take a look in that direction if you'd like. It would be helpful to have some more detail on how you expect it to work.

about the changes here: I think that since this is not included as part of the default footer, users can just choose to select it whenever they need it but I also agree with you on the fact that we should consider allowing users to create their own additions. I can take a look at that in a separate issue?

Although, this does go well with the built-in footer menu, since I suppose there are plenty who use the cli across SSH over different machines.

On second thought @M-DEV-1 i think hostname is perfectly valid as containers and SSH would be quite helpful for a large number of folks.

There is another PR up by Taylor due to a duplicate that covers similar and actually makes it a default footer option when container or SSH is detected: #25637

This call to hostname is expensive and it will be called on every render. Move this out of the component into a constant that executes once.
