Hey again. So I just edited my post.. What I initially posted isn't even the issue I meant to talk about, idk what I was thinking. I was having the hate of VacuumTube receiving commands in the background but that went away, so ignore that please.
Is there a chance you can pause playback when VacuumTube isn't focused? When I play YouTube on TV in brave/chrome, it immediately pauses playback until it's brought back into focus. However, VacuumTube doesn't behave this way, it just keeps it playing when other apps are brought to focus, which doesn't gel well with my HTPC as I have that AutoHotKey script running at system boot which allows me to launch Kodi and YouTube and if one of them is running and I want to switch over, I press the hotkey and it will check to see if it's running, if it is, it brings it into focus, if not, it launches it. When it's not in focus, we never know it's running in the background. So can you make chromium pause the video when it's not in focus? Thanks bro.
Additionall....I don't want to flood the issues/feature request tracker with my posts, so I'm gonna leave it here and if you want me to create separate posts, I'll do as you ask.
This part is actually an issue with the portable version of the app. I searched and couldn't find the app data within the app's folder, so I checked "../[user name]/appdata/roaming/VacuumTube", and there it was!
I know this is, yet again a first world problem and I'm really not trying to come across as one is those "well acktchually" Redditor dudes, so please don't take it disrespectfully and if it does come across that way, I am so sorry....
But portable apps aren't supposed to write data anywhere on the machine that it is being ran on. Instead, they are supposed to store all of their data within the folder that the executable is ran from so it can be ran from a flash drive and in this situation, writing to the machine it's being ran can kinda be considered security issue. Again, I'm not trying to be rude, condescending or patronizing and if I'm coming across that way, I am so sorry, that is not my intention because I truly appreciate all of your work and efforts.
I decided to run a test and deleted the installed version along with the portable version, deleted the appdata folder and extracted the latest archive of the portable version, signed back into YTTV and sure enough, it's writing the data to %appdata%. I try to keep everything for my HTPC portable so it will just work, regardless of whatever tomfoolery Windows decides it's going to do with the drive letters.
Lastly, I installed VacuumTube on my son's gaming PC and the app locked up whenever he tried to watch shorts, forcing me to right-click>end task on the VacuumTube icon in the taskbar. I don't have this issue on any of my machines, so I'm just throwing this out there. It's not really high priority though.
