Pulsebox channel to pin mappings

Pulsebox channels and their mapping to Arduino Due digital pins.

Pulsebox channels

The Arduino pins for the pulsebox channels are chosen so that they all belong to a single PIO PORT (PORTC). This allows us to change the state of the pulsebox with just one instruction - a write into the REG_PIOC_ODSR register. PORTC was chosen because it contained the largest number of free general-purpose digital pins (26).

Following are the default pin assignments (see the picture above). The sixteen pins were chosen because of their mutual proximity.

Trigger channel

Currently on Arduino pin 52. The trigger pin does not have to belong to the same PORT as the pulsebox pins. Again, we have chosen pin 52 because of its proximity to the pulsebox pins.
