[bug] Opening header picker dropdowns causes unintended page scroll jump #764

@Yash121l

Description

@Yash121l

URL:

https://nodejs.org/docs/latest/api/*

Browser Name:

Chrome

Browser Version:

147.0.7727.56

Operating System:

Darwin ***********.local 25.4.0 Darwin Kernel Version 25.4.0: root:xnu-12377.101.15~1/RELEASE_ARM64_T8112 arm64

How to reproduce the issue:

  1. Navigate to any Node.js API docs page, e.g. https://nodejs.org/docs/latest/api/*
  2. Scroll down the page until you are at least halfway through the content
  3. Without touching the scroll, click any of the four sticky header picker buttons: Table of contents, Index, Other versions, or Options
  4. Observe the page scroll position immediately after the dropdown opens

Expected: The page stays at the same scroll position — only the dropdown panel appears.

Actual: The page automatically scrolls upward without any user input the moment the picker is opened. The further down the page you are, the more noticeable the jump.
