Unable to use the question mark (?) character inside a string.

It gets treated as a variable placeholder and the ? is replaced with a passed in value.

select concat(dt.url, '/', d.posId, '?posTransactionId=', d.id) url

The ? should have some escape mechanism like \? or something.

How can this be achieved?

Made it work like this, by passing the ? as a parameter, which doesn't feel good.

There is no \? escape. query() replaces every ?, including ones inside SQL strings.

Bind it as a value:

  SELECT concat(dt.url, '/', d.posId, ?, 'posTransactionId=', d.id) AS url

  LEFT JOIN system_documentType dt ON dt.id = d.documentTypeId
  WHERE tenantId = ?
`

Or keep the character out of the formatter with CHAR(63):

concat(dt.url, '/', d.posId, CHAR(63), 'posTransactionId=', d.id)

The session-variable workaround you already have is the same idea.
