Why does this repo have some tests written in Swift?

I see there are also tests written in Go. Why both?

Short answer is that they're a quick sanity check and they make it much easier to debug the swift code (e.g you can log variables etc). I'm guessing your reason for asking is due to the lack of documentation so we should probably add some.

Simply because I don't know. 😄 We don't write test cases in C when writing C for OpenSSL, for example.

The extra tests have a maintenance cost and initial contributor cost that IMO has to be outweighed by the duplicated-seeming tests' usefulness. So if the reason isn't good enough (and I can't really evaluate this) then I wouldn't expect them to be here.
