What hardware/android version is supported?

I got a new galaxy tab A11, android 16, 4gb ram, and play store says it is not available (for my device)
On my ~10 years old galaxy tab A, android 10, 3gb ram, it works though.

How could that be?

It's just some Google Play shenanigans. I have no idea why this happens sometimes, you aren't the first person to report an issue this. Google Play even lists 4 different variants of the Galaxy Tab A11 as "supported":

The app should work on any Android version starting with 6.0 and up to the latest developer beta. I still test it on a Nexus 5 every now and then. There are no strict hardware requirements, it'll run on anything as long as it's at least Android 6.0 and has a touchscreen.

Anyway, you should be able to just grab an apk from the releases section and install that, it comes with self-updating functionality.
