Power BI Desktop lets you open and interact with the model. You can download it from the Microsoft Store or here.
To start using the operational-risk-sla-pressure-model:

Visit the main project page to get the latest version:

On the page, look for a file named like
operational-risk-sla-pressure-model.pbix. This file contains the Power BI model. -
Choose Download to save the
.pbixfile to your Windows PC. -
Once downloaded, locate the file in your “Downloads” folder or where you saved it.

Double-click the file to open it in Power BI Desktop.

If Power BI Desktop asks for permission to connect to data sources or refresh, allow it to ensure the data loads correctly.
Once open, you will see several pages in the report. Each page provides insights on different aspects of SLA compliance and risks.
- Dashboard: High-level view of overall SLA status and risk scores.
- Pressure Points: Details on where SLA breaches are likely or happening.
- Remediation: Lists tasks recommended to reduce risks, prioritized by urgency.
- Data Source: Shows the data tables behind the model.
You can use filters on the left to focus on specific departments, risk types, or timeframes.
The model uses data tables to calculate results. If you have your own data sets to plug in, follow these steps:

In Power BI Desktop, click Home > Transform data.

In the Power Query Editor, find the tables listed.

Replace or update the data sources with your new Excel, CSV, or database files.

After updating, click Close & Apply to refresh the report.
This will bring the latest data into the model. If you do not have your own data, the model ships with sample data to explore features.
The model contains formulas written in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions). These create the risk scores and recommended actions based on your data.
If you want to adjust this logic:

Open Power BI Desktop.

Select a measure or calculated column in the Fields pane.

Click the Modeling tab and find New Measure or edit existing ones.

Modify the DAX formulas to fit your business rules.
No programming needed, but a basic understanding of formulas helps.
