Support macros in keybinding sequences

Quoting from the 25.01 release notes:

The initial support for macro keybinding limits the bindings to be unusable in a command sequence: you can't yet combine macros with regular commands. For example you could swap out the y [in "@\"ay"] for its command yank in a sequence like ["@\"a", "yank"], but this is not yet supported.

AFAICT there's no existing issue for that limitation, so I'm creating one.

This is what I currently do:

It would be nice to have something like this instead:

I'm a novice so I may be trying to do things that are impractical anyway, but I discovered that :append-output echo KEY behaves differently than append_mode followed by KEY

• in my use case I wanted to insert a semicolon at the end of the line and go back to my original position without saving the selection to jumplist (since afaik it's not possible yet to then delete items from the list (?) and I didn't want to clutter it)
• so I tried to select_mode, goto_line_end, followed by the appending, then flip_selections, collapse_selection
• but :append-output echo ';' collapses the selection so being able to use append_mode, @;, normal_mode instead would be very helpful
• I replaced the whole command sequence with a @vgla;<esc><A-;>; macro for now but obviously I would prefer to use commands to make it futureproof, in case I ever decide to remap any of those keys

Of course, also then u acts funky because it recreates the original selection again and I find it disorienting, so the best solution would be able to delete most recent jumplist entry at the end of the command sequence, and use that instead of a junky select mode hack?
