Motivation
When playing with a mechanical keyboard or another input device that produces
audible physical feedback, input-triggered key sounds can be perceived after the
physical key sound because of audio output latency.
It would be useful to have an optional play style where note key sounds are
played at their chart timing, while input-triggered key sounds are disabled. The
player's physical input sound can then provide immediate input feedback, and the
in-game key sound remains aligned with the song and judgment timing.
Proposed behavior
- Add an
Auto key sound (perfect timing) player option, disabled by default.
- When enabled, play visible-note key sounds at each note's chart timing.
- Do not play the same key sound again from player input or autoplay judgment.
- Keep BGM notes, mine-note behavior, guide SE, judgment, scoring, and gauge
behavior unchanged.
- Use the configured key-sound volume for automatically scheduled note sounds.
Notes
This is an opt-in accessibility/play-style option and does not change existing
behavior for current configurations.
