What happened?

I did a composer update from 4.6.5 to 4.7.0, then went to the login page and got the following error

I also have shield installed, latest version

Steps to Reproduce

have CI4.6.5 working, composer on command line to 4.7.0, go to login page

Expected Output

I would see the login page

Please, when updating the framework, do not forget to update your files in the app/ from vendor/codeigniter4/framework/app.

This is a common mistake.

git is the preferred option. You can copy all the files to your app and see what has changed in the IDE (vscode, phpstorm) Next, compare and return your settings.

This is a good point to ask ourselves why users are still not aware that updating via Composer alone is not sufficient and that additional steps are required. We then need to answer the question of how we can manage this issue in a way that has not been addressed so far.

I'm not sure relying on a Composer "post" command is the best approach here. The message would appear even when nothing related to our package has changed, which might quickly become noise and be ignored.

An idea similar to @neznaika0 . We have a ComposerScripts class here. If there is a way we can feed the list of packages updated/installed, then we can have a custom ComposerScripts in appstarter that filters for codeigniter4/framework and displays the note, and possibly with a link to the upgrade guide.
