Drupal 8 yml files schemas

Hi.

I just started my project to create all main schemas for Drupal 8.
It's already have few very useful schemas.

There is already some people who ask this schemas but it's too difficult to setup their IDE's (mostly PhpStorm). So I decided to push my schemas to schemastore.org.

Can someone clarify for me what I need to do ? And how updates will be synced from my repo ?

I need to copy my files from repo to repo or maybe there is a system to link files ?

Hi. Sorry I can't pronounce your nick. :)
I'm new for this project but I can explain what I did today to publish my input (a scheme for electron-builder).

1. First of all you need to fork this repo into your GitHub space.
2. Clone YOUR repo to your computer.
3. Open VS solution in VS.
4. Find on disk folder \src\schemas\json and put your JSON schema files into it. Please name it meaningfully.
5. Add new files into the VS solution. RMB click on same folder in the solution tree, select in context menu Add | Existing Item..., select all just copied files. NOTE: check encoding of your files. It should be UTF-8 without BOM (Windows loves to add it to every text files but builder on AppVeyor doesn't.)
6. You need to modify a listing JSON file \src\api\json\catalog.json. Just copy/paste some present block and modify it for your schema file. If you have a few files do it for each schema-file.
7. git add, commit (commit message like: feature: add schema for Drupal 8 Super feature config, push to your repo.
8. On GitHub on your repo page select Pull requests on top (next to Code) and then New pull request.
9. Review your changes and press Create.

Just it. After your PR an automatic AppVeyor build will be scheduled. After it is done correct errors if any and git add, commit, push again into your repository. Changes to your repo will update your PR automatically, a build will be scheduled and so on.
After a while hopefully some of repo owners will merge your PR and the site will provide your changes.
Probably it is a common way of contributing on GitHub.

I found that it's possible to add schemas only into src/api/json/catalog.json with external links to my repo files directly.

But I have question about file patterns possible conflicts.
For example I have schema for *.routing.yml files. It's very general name and may conflict with other frameworks.

How to solve these possible conflicts ?

Hi! 1. I suggest to copy your schema files into schemastore’s repository. At any point you can move, modify or delete files from external repository and everything will be broken. Or someday somebody will need to update your files because of changes in a new version. So it’s better to keep them on schemastore. 2. I really don’t know about patters. I guess this fileMatch field is just a suggestion for editors. At least my VS Code don’t respect electron-builder.json by name. Only if I specify the $schema property manually. So don’t care about it. Seems like you can even avoid this field at all.
