What is MoonProxy?

MoonProxy is a cross-platform, MIT-licensed GUI desktop client for FRP (frpc) that lets users expose local services to the public internet — even behind NAT or without a public IP.

It sits alongside ngrok in this list, but targets a different need: instead of a hosted SaaS tunnel, MoonProxy wraps the self-hostable engine in a polished desktop app (macOS + Windows), making FRP accessible to non-technical users.

Key features:

  • One-click start/stop of the engine, no CLI or config file editing
  • Visual proxy-rule management (TCP / UDP / HTTP / HTTPS)
  • Real-time traffic monitoring + connection health detection
  • System tray, auto-launch, and scheduled connectivity
  • Built-in frpc binary auto-update (SHA256-verified, atomic replace)
  • Built with Tauri v2 + Rust + Vue 3

Placed under Popular Reverse Proxies, right after the existing tunneling tool (ngrok). Happy to adjust the description or section if a maintainer prefers a different spot.
