Introduction

The product definition templates 121 and 122 are used to encode probability forecasts with focal statistics processing. There are also applications where not the probability of a threshold exceedance is of interest but the focal statistics of the parameter itself. One such an application is the encoding of percentiles of the values in a certain neighbourhood or smoothing of fields using an upscaling.
