Organizations can pay one time or recurring contribution to the open source software projects they depend on. These funds help fund the ongoing security, reliability, and development of critical open source projects. By paying maintainers, your organization helps improve the health and stability of the open source tools you rely on.

  • Supports maintainers and contributors

  • Funds security audits, bug fixes, and new features

  • Helps keep projects up-to-date and well-documented

With GitHub Sponsors, open source projects can offer multiple sponsorship tiers that correspond to different support levels, tailored to the size of each organization. Organizations supporting a project can pay their maintainers through GitHub sponsors, either by credit card or by invoicing.
