Copilot in GitHub
Body
Hi,
I’m currently using GitHub Copilot (Student plan), and my subscription is active. All Copilot features are enabled, and Copilot Chat is working correctly in VS Code.
However, I’m unable to access premium models like Claude Opus, Claude Sonnet (latest), or GPT-4.
What’s confusing is that I was able to use Claude Opus (4.6) last month, but now those models are no longer visible in the model selector.
Here’s what I’ve already verified:
Subscription is active (Copilot Student)
Copilot Chat is enabled and working
Logged in with the correct GitHub account
VS Code and extensions are updated
No organization policy restrictions (personal account)
This seems like either:
a change in model access/entitlement
rollout rollback
or premium request gating
Could you please clarify:
Whether access to models like Claude Opus / GPT-4 has changed for Copilot Student users?
If this is related to premium request limits or feature rollout?
How I can regain access to those models?
Thanks in advance for your help!
