Subject: Copilot Pro+ – Model Access Changes and Increased Multipliers
Hello,
I recently upgraded my GitHub Copilot subscription from Pro to Pro+, and I need clarification on several unexpected changes that occurred immediately after upgrading.
Before upgrading, I had access to Claude Opus 4.6.
After upgrading, Opus 4.6 was removed entirely, and the replacement model now carries a 7.5× multiplier.
This is a significant increase in cost per request, and it was not communicated anywhere in the upgrade flow or documentation.
I upgraded specifically because Pro+ is advertised as including premium models.
However, after upgrading:
The model I previously used (Opus 4.6) is gone
The replacement model is dramatically more expensive to use
The value of the upgrade feels lower than before
This feels like a downgrade disguised as an upgrade.
Please confirm:
Which Claude Opus models are currently available to Pro+ users
Whether Opus 4.6 was intentionally removed
Why the multiplier increased so sharply
Whether these changes are temporary or permanent
I am already paying for multiple GitHub services (approx. $150/month), and I upgraded Copilot to Pro+ expecting improved access — not reduced access with higher multipliers.
I would appreciate a clear explanation of what changed and why.
Less value for money is not good for you customers and I can't suggest this service like I have before.
Thank you.
