No way to let users grant access to a single repository

I'm building a mobile app that syncs data through git. I want users to grant access to a single GitHub repository. OAuth apps require access to all repos, so that's out. GitHub apps let users select specific repos, but if the app is already installed, visiting /installations/new shows the settings page with save button disabled. There's no way to complete the redirect back to my app. Is there a recommended path for this?
