Depends on what you mean. You can script expressions/properties etc with JS (presets and functions).

Next version (1.1) will have a public API, so you can control Friction from python/shell/dbus or other apps.

Aha, 1.1 would be the thing then. How are you thinking of doing the API - CLI, JS/TS, Lua...?

Off the cuff I'd say that for the bulk of users they would want a higher level CLI that talks to the JSON bridge. Not sure what you are doing for testing but IMHO a solid test for the API would be using it to automate a test suite that could be run in CI. Something that could be easily scripted eg via Python or Bash, would also work with an LLM.
