Consider a Major Restructure DITA Bootstrap?

Using the specialization, it is possible to achieve a similar fop transform to create bootstrap PDFs:

All in all, there is getting to be quite a collection of repositories, maybe now is the time to restructure this into a separate organisation?

Note that the bootstrap PDF plugin only has a dependency on the base bootstrap HTML plugin simply because the specializations lie inside there - may be there should be a separate dita-bootstrap.specialization purely for the DTD?

The last time we discussed that option, I created a dedicated org at github.com/dita-bootstrap.

I'll invite you there, so we can begin the process of transferring related repositories to the common namespace.

IIRC, GitHub creates redirects for transferred repositories, so existing links to the original locations should remain operational (at least for a while). We could test that theory by transferring the latest repos first, since they're less widely linked:

I have transferred over four repositories.

#293 is the "all-in-one" solution" probably unnecessary - I'll keep the branch for reference for now.
#294 is just adding Specialization processing, adding it should be benign

At the moment the https://nfotexture.github.io/dita-bootstrap docs are built from dita-bootstrap/sample - that would still be @outputclass only. If the GitHub action was updated to build from dita-bootstrap.specialization/sample that would show both approaches.

I'll plan to transfer the other plug-ins to the new org to coincide with the release, which we can also use to announce the new org and create aliases in the plug-in registry to assist in discovery. In the meantime, I added a new dita-bootstrap topic label to all of these plug-ins, so we can easily find them all regardless of the org.

To avoid confusion, I'd be inclined to leave them where they are now until we communicate the change with the next release.

So to test that everything is working, you should still review and merge https://github.com/infotexture/dita-bootstrap/pull/294 - then I can set up GitHub Actions on dita-bootstrap.specialization , dita-bootstrap.pdf and dita-bootstrap.pdf.theme to see if documentation on the update is working properly.

I'll also raise a new PR on infotexture.dita-bootstrap.extension and create a separate dita-bootstrap.dita-bootstrap.extension.specialization

I like the tabbed code blocks that let you switch between the specialization & outputclass approaches.

Those probably need a bit of leading space to give them a bit of breathing room after the preceding example frames, but that's a minor implementation detail.

You can move com.example.bootstrap.offline over immediately - it isn't a released plugin.

dita-bootstrap.tables and dita-bootstrap.sass are good candidates for testing if the DITA registry still picks up the new location. If that works, dita-bootstrap.lunr should be next since the main docs still use it in CI.

There are a couple of URL references in the DITA which may need amending.

CI for dita-bootstrap.extension.specialization may need an update once dita-bootstrap.extension moves to rebuild the docs.

dita-bootstrap could stay where it is for now, or you could move it over and fork back to infotexture to maintain the documentation until the next release.
