Duplicate items in locations response from HandsOn dataset response

When looking into why there was so many results being returned for only a few items on the map, I saw there are a lot of duplicate items being sent back from the SCOS dataset.

I have tried to add &groupBy=location_id to the end of the query string but it does not work. The SCOS api is returning a 406 Bad request.

Are we able to add a group by selection on the location_id column on the SCOS api? If not, we will have to circumvent this somehow but the most performant solution is to just request a group by at the database level.

Also I tried adding a query in the body query string param but that did not work either. According to the documentation on their site, you can use ANSI SQL notation in the body tag and perform more advanced queries. When I did this though, it just selects every single row and is not respecting the WHERE constraints in the body.
